
The Board of Directors of the Central Bank decided to reduce the salary of the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina by 10 percent. This was announced in a letter to the State Duma by the first deputy chairman of the Bank of Russia Georgy Luntovsky, Izvestia reports. The press service of the Central Bank confirmed this information.
In addition, 10 percent of the seniority allowance for deputies Nabiullina, as well as for the main auditor of the Central Bank and all members of the board of directors, was cut. Luntovsky notes that in 2015 the regulator will reduce the cost of maintaining employees by 2.5 billion rubles.
In 2013, Elvira Nabiullina earned 12.2 million rubles. The publication indicates that the chief accountant Andrei Kruzhalov was the highest paid employee of the Bank of Russia - he earned almost 54 million rubles.
Earlier, in 2012, the Central Bank increased employees by 13.6 percent to 90.4 billion rubles, in 2013 - by another 6 percent of up to 95.8 billion. The average monthly income of one employee of the Central Bank in 2013 amounted to 105,500 rubles per month.
According to preliminary data, in 2014 the Bank of Russia earned 183 billion rubles. The net profit of the Central Bank over the year increased by almost 45 percent. The regulator sends 75 percent of the profit to the budget.
