In Crimea, employees of the regional center for countering extremism detained a man who is considered a member of the Azov volunteer battalion. This was announced at a meeting with the employees of the CPE and the FSB by the prosecutor of the annexed peninsula Natalya Poklonskaya, the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Crimea reports .
The man whose name is not called in the message is suspected of arson of the Mosque of Chukurch in Simferopol and the attempt on a terrorist act near the building of the Crimean prosecutor’s office in the summer of last year. The court arrested him. Supervision of the investigation of the criminal case is personally carried out by Poklonskaya.
Last year, the Ukrainian film director and activist of Avtomaidan Oleg Sentsov was detained in Crimea on fabricated charges of terrorism. He was stolen by the FSB in Simferopol on May 10, 2014 and was tortured. At the same time, in the papers, the detention of the Crimean prisoner dates from May 11. In the middle of the same month, the political prisoner was delivered to the capital's pre -trial detention center Lefortovo, unofficially controlled by the special service.
The Politzeku is charged with the leadership of the “Right Sector” sabotage group, which, according to the FSB, prepared terrorist attacks in Simferopol, Yalta and Sevastopol, and later “destroying a number of life objects, railway bridges, and power lines”.
Politsyk does not admit his fault for any of the imputed accusations. Another person involved in the case, the left activist Alexander Kolchenko also does not admit guilt. He confirms his participation in the arson of the United Russia headquarters in Simferopol in April 2014, but does not agree with the qualification of these actions on the "terrorist" articles of the Russian Criminal Code. He did not give testimony on Sentsov.
In addition to Sentsov and Kolchenko, there were two more defendants in the case - lawyer and photographer Gennady Afanasyev and historian Alexei Chirniy. However, both of them made a deal with the investigation, having stipulated both himself and Sentsov, and their cases were allocated in separate proceedings, examining each in a special order. On December 17, 2014, the Moscow City Court sentenced Afanasyev to 7 years in a maximum regime . On April 21, 2015, the North Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don issued the same sentence to Chirnia .
On April 16, Sentsov was a final charge . He was charged with part 1 of Article 205.4 (organization of the terrorist community), two episodes under paragraph “A” of part 2 of Article 205 (a terrorist attack committed by an organized group), one episode under Part 1 of Article 30 - paragraph 2 of Article 205 (preparation for a terrorist attack in an organized group), as well as part 3 of Article 222 (illegal turnover of weapons and explosives committed by an organized group) and part 3 of Article 30 - Part 3 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code (attempt on the same act).
