year 2014. Fire in the Odessa House of Trade Unions

A year ago, on May 2, 2014, bloody clashes took place in Odessa between activists of the local Maidan and Anti-Maidan. The fighting began on Novosobornaya Square. The police not only did not interfere with the riots, but also covered the anti-Maidanists who used firearms. Subsequently, the massacre moved to the House of Trade Unions, where the headquarters of the Anti-Maidan was located. Part of the anti-Maidanists continued to shoot from the roof, many people ended up inside the building. Molotov cocktails and possibly deliberate or accidental burning of the building started a fire from the inside. Several people died from burns, most died from carbon monoxide poisoning and other unknown gases. There is evidence that there was fighting in the building before the fire. In total, 48 people became victims of the clashes on May 2.
