The city honored the memory of the dead on Deribasovskaya and on the Kulikovo field
There are two mourning points in Odessa. This is Deribasovskaya, where on May 2, 2014 the first battles unfolded, and Kulikovo Field, where the bulk of people died. Therefore, from the very beginning, two mourning events were planned - on Cathedral Square (in the city center) and near the House of Trade Unions. The first was to take place at 12 o’clock. But at 12 on Cathedral Square it was empty. Only police detachments. Nothing threatened order, so the security forces fearlessly left protective equipment on benches.

The police carried its shift surrounded by strangers around the dogs.

At the monument to Vorontsov, standing in the center of the square, the babies and the dog were also filed.

We saw the first mourning flowers by the bench, where the servants of order were sitting again.

Along the entire empty Cathedral Square were military car dutters.

Having crossed the road, on Deribasovskaya Street we saw new mourning bouquets. They were brought to the place from where the ambulance took the first who died in these clashes - the Maidanian Igor Ivanov, an employee of the Zhovtnoye Court of the city of Odessa.

And here we learned that the time of the memorable rally on the cathedral is shifted for two hours. It was decided to spend exactly at 14.00 - at the same time, when a rally on the Kulikovo field begins. Presumably, representatives of the Maidan were supposed to come to the first rally, and on the second, conditionally, anti -Maidan. And so that they do not have any points of contact, the time of the rallies combined.

The clock was on the beginning of the second. We went to Kulikovo Field. Security measures there were taken absolutely unprecedented. Throughout the perimeter, this territory was surrounded by combat equipment. The people walked, of course, through metal detectors. They sold flowers in the transition. The seller immediately asked me: "Is this on Kulikovo?" And he bandaged the bouquet with a mourning ribbon that hung at him ready. Everyone went with flowers.

People laid these flowers to a homemade memorial with the names and photographs of the dead, which stretched along the facade of the house of trade unions. And they put on asphalt, where tents stood before.

About the people came to the people for a mourning rally as they usually came to Anti -Maidan's shares. In the center of a dense group of people, speakers replaced each other with a megaphone. As I already reported, sound -integrating equipment was prohibited at this rally in order to "not turn it into a political event." People supported the speakers, chanting the following slogans: "We will not forget, we will not forgive!", "Fascism will not pass!" And "Odessa is a hero city!". The third slogan shouted most willingly.

At the very beginning of the event, people with ligaments of black balls in their hands entered the square.

This was the most sad and solemn note of the ceremony - the launch of these balls into the sky.

And then the white pigeons were still released. People spent them with applause. When the operator and I were about to leave, a local resident with a bicycle jumped up to us and asked for permission to express all the claims accumulated to his authorities. We allowed.

But another character immediately jumped up to him, so tall, with a tail, and began to shout that all the same would not give this to the air, that everyone was “captured” and “fired from work” if we “show the truth”. And I recognized this person! It was the same provocateur, which a year ago in the same Kulikovo field in front of the gathered the Ukrainian flag gathered. I have these pictures. He screamed and provoked other people to the cry. And now he was freely walked around this area and continued to provoke. What instilled in me some doubts about the effectiveness of the efforts of the Ukrainian repressive machine, about which they love to talk so much through federal Russian channels.

The happiness that it was not useful today.

On the evening of May 2, the film "May 2 without myths" was shown on the Odessa 7th channel. This film needs to be watched by everyone who wants an honest, painstaking, conscientious analysis of events. This, not mammoth. In the evening I once again came to Kulikovo Field. There was almost no one there. Only, probably, the closest. And this is what I noticed. This homemade memorial to the dead was tightened with a black cloth with portraits attached to it. Now she was removed. The wall became yellow-blue. The day of the mourning went to its completion.
