
A criminal case was terminated against the coordinator of the Left Front in the Republic of Mari El Andrei Svistunov. This was reported by the local publication "7x7" with reference to the activist himself. He was accused of justifying terrorism and preparing to overthrow the constitutional system.
"According to the investigation from August to October 2012, the VKontakte social network posted text messages, justifying terrorism. They are dissatisfied with the existing procedure for managing and justifying the violent way of changing it," the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for Mari El reported.
Svistunov posted films on his page about left -wing and terrorist foreign organizations, in particular about Italian "red brigades" and the German "" "Red Army faction". Previously, these films were shown on public television channels, such as REN-TV and NTV.
The investigation lasted almost a year. As a result, the TFR stopped the case. However, in the winter of 2014, the Republican prosecutor’s office canceled this decision and initiated the resumption of investigative actions.
On Wednesday, lawyer Svistunov asked him to go to the investigation and get a decision on the termination of the criminal case.
“I went there today in the morning, but they didn’t give me the decisions, saying that they would call later. Nevertheless, I managed to hear oral confirmation of the information that became a well -known lawyer - that the case was really closed,” Svistunov said.
The case against Svistunovwas opened in November 2012 . Then Svistunov and two more activists of the Left Front Pavel Tolmachev and Ivan Mosunov were detained by the fighters of the special forces, the Center "E" and the employees of the TFR. The detainees were interrogated with the investigative department. After that, they conducted searches and seized computers, campaign leaflets and newspapers, and other opposition materials. Svistunov took a non -departure subscription. In November 2013, he was arrested.
In July 2013, the court in Yoshkar-Ola sentenced Tolmachev to 80 hours of compulsory work for "slander" to the head of Mari El Leonid Markelov. On September 8, 2012, in his speech, a rally in Yoshkar-Ola, the activist said that Markelov was associated with bandits and is guilty of a number of crimes. As the TFR previously reported, during the investigation, Tolmachev apologized to the head of the region on the Internet.
