"Night Cafe" Van Gogh: now in 3D
The developer of the Games Mac Cauley created a 3D version of the “Night Cafe” by Vincent Van Gogh. The work was prepared for the Mobile VR JAM 2015 contest, which was organized by Oculus VR, a manufacturer of virtual reality points.
The competition is aimed at creating new games and appendices for virtual reality glasses for Gear VR - Samsung glasses, in which a smartphone is used as a “filling”. Cowley created a video in which he demonstrated his idea - to allow the viewer to move inside the cafe from the picture of Van Gogh.
“It was interesting to use suitable materials from the works of Van Gogh and other expressionists, as well as imagine what could be there behind the edges of the canvas,” Cowley wrote (English).
