Facebook apologized to journalist Sergei Parkhomenko for blocking his post about Novaya Gazeta’s publication about a Boeing downed over Ukraine. As stated on the social network, the blocking was an accident.
“Because our team deals with thousands of requests and complaints every day, on rare occasions we make mistakes,” Facebook said.
"I am glad. The apology has been accepted, let's consider the incident over. But we’ll have to be careful in the future,” Parkhomenko responded to this.
- On May 7, Facebook blocked a post by Sergei Parkhomenko, in which he discussed the publication of the Novaya newspaper that the Boeing was shot down by a Ukrainian Buk. The journalist believes that his blocking is connected with a series of bot complaints about the post. In his post, Parkhomenko criticized the Kremlin for inconsistency.
