Fundraising announced for Orson Welles' unfinished film

On Thursday, May 7, a campaign was launched to raise funds for the editing of Orson Welles' latest film, The Other Side of the Wind, on which the classic of cinematography has been working for 6 years.

Access to the footage, negatives and sound recordings, after a long dispute over the rights, was given to producer Filip Jan Rymsa. Materials for the film were stored in the Parisian suburb of Bagnolet. Rımşa has access to more than 1,000 film clips. All materials found by the producer weigh over 1.6 tons.

To complete work on The Other Side of the Wind, the producers need to raise $2 million. The campaign will run until June 14 (English).

• The Other Side of the Wind is Orson Welles' last film, which he began filming in 1970 after returning from Europe to the United States, but never premiered. This is a movie about a movie: the main character, director Jake Hannaford, played by John Huston, returns to America from Europe to shoot a new movie.
• May 6, 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Orson Welles, creator of Citizen Kane, Outlander and The Lady of Shanghai.
