Retelling of the case, which ended in a five -year period for the main accused

Evgenia Vasilieva is one of the most striking defendants in recent history. “Amazon Serdyukov”, a poet, a collector, owner of a jewelry salon, a star of “yellow” media and at the same time a fraudster who caused the state for hundreds of millions of rubles. "Yellow" story. The case of Oboronservice initially attracted attention precisely the details - for example, a search in the apartment of Evgenia Vasilyeva, in which the Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdyukov, or by the same searches of jewelry, antiques and millions of rubles found in cash found, was found . The apartment itself was struck separately - it is located in the "Golden Mile" of Moscow, in it, as originally reported, 13 rooms, although Vasilieva herself claims to be only four. For several weeks, journalists discussed the “Serdyukov slippers” - the owner of the apartment offered male black slippers who came to her in an interview with Ksenia Sobchak, which (probably) could belong to the former Minister of Defense. The list of amazing details can be continued indefinitely - Vasilyeva defenders, for example, appealed her house arrest under the pretext that the defendant could die if she did not allow her to go shopping. Lifenews claimed that Vasilieva asked the court to allow her to live with Serdyukov during the proceedings (this information was not confirmed ) - in general, thanks to the “yellow” details, a boring case of theft in the Ministry of Defense became known throughout the country.

The essence of the matter. Oboronservice is a company that was formed in 2008 in order to collect non -core assets on the balance sheet of the armed forces. Until 2012, Evgenia Vasiliev was the head of the Department of Property Relations of the Ministry of Defense, that is, she collaborated with Opronservice more than tightly. The investigation claims that a state property was sold through the “Oboronservis” at low prices, and Vasilieva personally chose the most liquid assets for sale. Several people took place in the Oboronservice case (they received different terms); Vasilieva is the most “status” defendant. Initially, it was assumed that Anatoly Serdyukov could be among the accused (the head of the Ministry of Defense until 2012 and until 2011-the head of the board of directors of Oboronservice), but this did not happen.

PR Vasilyeva. It is easy to imagine how the defendant is trying to behave quietly in such a loud cause and not attract excess attention. Vasilieva is not one of these: during the house arrest, she managed to write portraits of Alexei Navalny, Ksenia Sobchak, Alexander Lukashenko and others (you can see the chosen works here ), write the song “Slopes” and remove the clip (being under house arrest), publish a book of poems (some can be seen here , but do not advise), give an interview with Sobchak, develop a collection of jewelry decorations. In addition, she actively led Twitter, and the list can be continued. It is not surprising that many journalists at the court were not interested in the essence of the matter, but how Vasiliev was dressed and with what kind she eats the lollipops during the announcement of the sentence. It seems that Vasilieva achieved such attention.

A strange court decision. On May 8, it became known that Vasilieva received five years of colony of general regime. The sentence is strange. See:

1. The prosecutor's office considered that Vasilyeva’s fault was proved for all 12 episodes of the case, including in fraud on an especially large scale, and asked to give her eight years conditionally (!).

2. The court did not agree with the opinion of the prosecutor’s office - he considered the key accusations unproven, and the amount of damage caused to the state was reduced from three billion rubles by about ten times.

3. The court decided that Vasilieva should not be conditional, but a real punishment in the colony. Given the house arrest, she has to spend three years and nine months behind bars.

As a result, everyone is unhappy-both those who asked for a tough sentence, and those who believe that for economic articles there should be not prison deadlines, but fines, and, of course, those who believe that Vasilieva is only a performer of other people's orders, and real fraudsters are still at large.
