Rosneft named the price for the president

In 2013, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree obliging officials and heads of state-owned companies to disclose their income. The officials complied with the decree, and the heads of state-owned companies provided data on their salaries only to the government. At the end of last year, the government finally obliged the heads of state-owned companies to disclose income. Yakunin has repeatedly spoken out against this, calling it an interference in private life. “If the state makes such a decision, then I have two options - either I obey and continue to perform my functions, or I say - no, this does not suit me, I write a statement, apologize and go into private business,” said the president of Russian Railways in interview with Rossiya 24 in January.

However, he then stated that he would disclose the income at the request of the government. But in March, the press secretary of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Natalya Timakova, explained that the heads of state-owned companies should report income only to the government; they should not make them public.

But in April, President Vladimir Putin recommended that the heads of state-owned companies disclose their income. But he made a reservation that “we cannot oblige them, force them to disclose their income in person.”
