Putin commented on the boycott of the Victory Parade by Western leaders

Vladimir Putin was not upset due to the lack of Western leaders at the military parade in honor of the 70th anniversary of Victory in Moscow. According to RBC, he told about this in an interview with the Russian television channel Sergey Brilev.

“Everyone we wanted to see were here. The main thing is that people understand that the fight against Nazism was very important and victory over Nazism is a very important milestone in the history of mankind,” Putin said.

Putin noted that this holiday is the most important in the history of Russia, emphasizing that he decided to take part in the Immortal Regiment campaign on Red Square. “The courage, blood and bodies of a simple Russian soldier, an ordinary Soviet soldier and the road to victory was laid out, and when we carry their photos, this means that we pay tribute to what they did for the country,” the head of state emphasized.

Earlier it was reported that the leaders of 27 countries came to the celebrations on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in Moscow. The presidents of Armenia, Kazakhstan and Venezuela, as well as the leaders of Cuba and the PRC, found themselves in Nichis. From among the heads of EU countries, only the presidents of Cyprus, the Czech Republic and Serbia, as well as the Prime Minister of Slovakia, arrived in Moscow. The last three did not come to the military parade on Red Square, but they laid flowers to the grave of an unknown soldier in the Alexander Garden, and also visited a solemn reception in the Kremlin.
