The program of Russian drifting stations "North Pole" was suspended in 2013
The Russian government allocates more than 205 million rubles ($ 4 million) to ensure the work of the Drinking stations of the North Pole. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
The government’s report emphasizes that the drifting stations of the North Pole are the most important factor in ensuring the Russian presence in the high -wing areas of the Arctic , which consolidates the priority of Russia in conducting comprehensive research in the region.
The program of Russian drifting stations of the North Pole was suspended in 2013, when the last station with the same name was evacuated by ties with the fact that a crack was formed on the ice floe where it was located.
In April of this year, the station, which is located near the dahlia of the North Pole, began work again. It was decided that it will now function not in annual, but in seasonal mode - two and a half - three months.
