
The judge of the Novocherkassk City Court of the Rostov Region Viktor Shilin sentenced the Cossack and ecological activist Sergei Loshkarev to two years in a sentence of a fabricated charges of storing a pistol and cartridges for it. This was announced on Tuesday by the "Caucasian Knot" with reference to Leonid Novikov, the lawyer of Politzek. Loshkarev was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code (illegal turnover of weapons).
As explained to the publication in the Loshkarev support group, the prosecutor required such a period for the activist.
The verdict was announced on May 8, but Novikov at the final meeting, as well as in the previous three, was absent. “From April 27 to today I have not been in the country,” he explained. At the same time, Novikov refused to comment on the "Caucasian node" why the hearings continued in his absence.
Later, the lawyer told Open Russia that the interests of his client at the last four meetings were represented by his acquaintance, an appointment lawyer. “I consulted it, explained the defense strategy,” Novikov added.
He also spoke about the existence of a “preliminary agreement” with Judge Shilin. “In an informal conversation, he told me that he read the text of the amnesty’s decree and found out that Loshkarev’s article allows us to count on an amnesty,” Novikov said. “As a result, the judge violated his word.”
The lawyer said the Caucasian Knot that the decision to appeal the verdict has not yet been made. Meanwhile, “Open Russia” he assured: “We will appeal right up to the European Court of Human Rights”.
Loshkarev, also known as Azhinov and the White Guard, was one of the most active defenders of the Red Spring city grove, which the authorities began to cut down. In addition, he was known for his video blog on YouTube, in which he opposed aggression in Ukraine. On March 14, 2014, the activist placed the plot "Save the Crimea! Appeal of the White Guard to the Crimeans. A referendum in the Crimea." On April 25, the blog appeared "The Russian appeal to the leader of the" Right Sector "Dmitry Yarosh", in which the activist asked Yarosh to scare the officials who cut down the "Red Spring".
On June 5, 2014, Loshkarev was detained and arrested for 3 days under part 1 of Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (disobedience to the legal order of a policeman).
When detaining the activist, they searched and threw a TT pistol without a number with 7 cartridges of 7.62 millimeters in the store. In fact, with Loshkarev, there was a small cloth bag with personal documents and a legally registered traumatic Pistol "OSA". When detained, they put a bag of sugar on his head, and then threw a combat pistol of TT into the bag. At the same time, the gun was not placed there, and the bag broke. As a result, in order to fit the TT in the bag, the security forces threw the "Os" out of it.
Loshkarev’s words were confirmed by three eyewitnesses who agreed to act as witnesses of protection.
After administrative arrest, Loshkarev was detained in a criminal case, and arrested on June 9 . Applying the arrest of Loshkarev, the investigator stated that the activist has a "civilian wife" in Ukraine. Her name was not reported.
The court on the merits of the Loshkarev case lasted since December 22, 2014.
On April 6, 2015, the Memorial human rights center recognized Loshkarev as political prisoner .
