iPad without additional equipment turned into a second monitor for Windows

Duet Display has released a Windows app that lets you use your iPad as a second monitor. This was reported by The Verge .

Duet Display, created by former Apple employees, made its presence known at the end of December 2014, turning the iPad into a fast secondary display for the Mac, but a few months later the developers turned their attention to Windows.

On May 12, a similar function became available to PC users. To use your tablet as a second screen, just download a special utility from the Duet Display website and install the companion application on your iPad or iPhone.

The program costs 599 rubles and, as The Verge notes, it requires virtually no setup. For Duet Display to work, you need to connect the tablet to your computer via a standard Lightning cable and run the appropriate programs on them.

Duet Display works with Windows 7 and Windows 8. The operating systems recognize the iPad as a touch monitor, allowing it to display a second desktop or replicate the image shown on the main screen, as well as perform various actions without using a mouse and keyboard.

Due to technical limitations, the image is transmitted in a resolution of 1024 by 768 - even if the iPad has a Retina display. Unlike wireless solutions from competitors, the creators of Duet Display focus on speed: according to them, the picture on the tablet is displayed at a frequency of 60 hertz, without delays.
