A Chuvash activist, persecuted for a post on a social network, is included in the list of extremists and terrorists

Rosfinmonitoring has included the Chuvash RPR-PARNAS activist Dmitry Semyonov, accused of inciting extremism for a post on a social network, to the list of individuals in respect of whom there is information about their involvement in extremist activities or terrorism. All his bank accounts are blocked. this Semenov announced on his Twitter, indicating that, according to the information available to him, the arrest was made on the basis of federal law No. 115 (on countering the laundering of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorism).

This afternoon, Semyonov received a notification from Sberbank that 40 million rubles had been debited from his account. At the same time, the activist was informed in the Federal Bailiff Service that he was not a debtor. Soon Semyonov found himself on the list of terrorists and extremists and found out that the funds on his accounts were arrested by Rosfinmonitoring. At the same time, as the activist noted , he had only about 30 thousand rubles on his Sberbank card, and not 40 million.

Tomorrow Semyonov intends to look into this situation together with his lawyer.

Recall that the case of incitement to extremist activity (part 1 of article 280 of the Criminal Code) against Semenov was initiated in January 2015 due to the fact that he reposted a message on social networks with a picture depicting Medvedev with a Caucasian cap and “ “Death to the Russian reptile” (in Russian) was written in Arabic script. Earlier, for this picture and a number of others, he had already been sentenced to a fine in an administrative case. Currently, the activist is under house arrest, the investigation of his case has been completed.
