CDK will show a film about Vivian Mayer

The directors of the film John Maluf and Charlie Siskel tell the story of the personal and creative life of Vivian Mayer, using rare pictures, short films shot by herself, and an interview with friends who did not even know how talented she was.

For the first time, Vivian Mayer became known in 2007, when the archive of her photographs was accidentally discovered on a flea market in the north-west of Chicago. This event influenced the whole future life of not only the owner of the archive of John Maluf, but also the world of art as a whole. It was he who forced photographers and critics to draw public attention to this unusual find. And now he continues to collect the missing parts of the archive, carefully digesting negatives and agrees on new exhibitions in the largest centers of modern art.

The show “In Search of Vivian Mayer” in the Central House of Council will be the preview of the program of the festival of modern documentary cities about cities and people “Center”, which will be held from September 2 to 6, 2015 and combine new films that study new boundaries of modern megacities and the city as a social system.
