President Vladimir Putin accepted the early resignation of the Governor of the Omsk Region Viktor Nazarov and appointed him the temporarily acting head of the region. This was reported by the Kremlin press service.
Despite the fact that Nazarov’s powers expire for another two years, he asked the president for permission to go to early elections.
“We understand that we need to do much more, and for this, of course, the trust of citizens, trust and support of citizens. Therefore, Vladimir Vladimirovich, I would like to contact you to agree on me to go to early elections in September of this year in order to continue the work that we have identified for ourselves,” said Nazarov. Putin noted that the governor "in general, everything develops very positively," and agreed.
On Wednesday, the Governor of the Irkutsk Region Sergey Eroshchenko and the Governor of the Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Ilyukhin were asked to participate in the early elections of the president. On Tuesday, with the same request to Putin, the head of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko. The President of the resignation accepted and appointed all three temporarily acting governors.
On April 16, Putin accepted the early resignation of the governor of the Kemerovo region Aman Tuleyev , who also wants to go to early elections. Tuleyev heads the region since July 1997. Earlier it was reported that the Kremlin offers the governor honorary conditions of resignation.
On April 20, RBC reported with reference to sources close to the Kremlin that in the next one and a half, Putin, at the request of governors, may announce early election campaigns in five to seven regions . The opportunity to re -elect will mainly receive those heads of the regions whom the Kremlin considers worthy to leave at the post and who will be able to organize trouble -free elections and win, without casting doubt on the legitimacy of the campaign.
The country's leadership has a desire to unload from the 2016-2018 elections, the source noted. During this period, the State Duma and the President will be elected. In the Kremlin at that time they want to focus on the federal campaign and not spend strength on the governor's elections.
Last year, the elections were also accelerated - instead of planned 11 regions, governors were elected at 30.
