Retired city manager, famous for big things

The head of the administration of Izhevsk Denis Agashin left the post of his own free will.

“Really big things have been done in the city,” he said at the final press conference. - And today, it seems to me, we are not ashamed to look into the eyes of the inhabitants.

Of Agashin's last big cases (which Novaya Gazeta wrote about): the purchase of tram cars of the 80s of production for 26 million rubles and their presentation as "new"; an event called "The Solemn Reception of the Head of the Municipal Formation of Izhevsk", instead of which, according to the FSB, a corporate party was held with the participation of the Snow Maiden.

But the most outstanding thing that Denis Agashin did as city manager was his campaign during the 2011 election campaign (State Duma elections). At a meeting with veteran organizations in Izhevsk, the official said:

“Not only me, but also the city administration would like to ask you to come and bring people who are in your primary organization and vote for United Russia. The Council of Veterans came to us with a proposal that we support the targeted program to support veterans of the city of Izhevsk. We are ready. But without voting for United Russia, they won't give us anything. Because today, starting from the very top, the distribution of both money and all resources - everything goes exactly like this: whoever supports the current government today is given money.

Leaving the post, Agashin admitted that he did not leave politics - he intended to run for deputies of the Izhevsk City Duma.

The head of Udmurtia, Alexander Solovyov, also said goodbye to Agashin:

“Today is already May 14, and we have not done a single square meter of street improvement. There were no auctions for objects. So far, I cannot understand who is to blame, because the budget has been adopted, 500 million rubles have been allocated for the city, and all facilities have been registered. We will now look for an understanding of who is to blame for this.”

Courts fine participants of last year's rallies in defense of Bolotnaya prisoners

In Tomsk, the trial of the “picket-bolotny case” continues. As we reported earlier, its defendants are participants in single actions in support of the “Prisoners of May 6”, which took place about a year ago. Then the police did not make any claims against them, and only six months later, after analyzing the videos, they came to the conclusion that all of them were “organizers of an uncoordinated event.”

On May 15, the court fined Mikhail Mordovin, a 59-year-old resident of Seversk, Tomsk Region. The court estimated his participation in one of the three pickets at 20,000 rubles.
