STGT LLC will be launched on the first day of SPIEF

The official opening of a joint plant between Siemens and Power Machines for the production and service of gas turbines with a capacity above 60 MW will take place on June 18. Investments in the plant amounted to €275 million.

The opening of the Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies plant, the construction of which lasted about a year and a half, will take place during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 18.

STGT LLC is a joint venture between Siemens (65% share) and Power Machines OJSC (35%), founded in 2011. At the end of 2012, the company acquired a 3.8 hectare plot in the Greenstate industrial park, which is being developed by the Finnish concern YIT. In October 2013, the foundation was laid for a plant to produce gas turbines with a capacity of 172 MW and 295 MW. The general contractor for the construction of the plant is Kompakt CJSC, the plant area is 25 thousand square meters. m.

The capacity of the enterprise is not disclosed, but its payback, stated in the investment agreement with the government of the Leningrad region, is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. The final investments in the plant did not exceed the plan and amounted to €275 million. STGT LLC receives tax benefits from the Leningrad region (0% on property and 13.5% on profit). According to analysts, the need for low and medium power turbines will be 14-20 units per year in the coming years.

According to Siemens, STGT LLC currently provides service maintenance for the equipment of the Kirishi State District Power Plant and the Nyagan State District Power Plant. Equipment was supplied to Yuzhnouralskaya GRES-2 and Verkhnetagilskaya GRES.

In addition to this plant, Siemens is developing such large projects in the Northwestern Federal District as a joint venture with REP Holding CJSC (production of electric motors and frequency converters by Siemens Elektroprivod LLC, investments of about €25 million) and a depot for the service and repair of high-speed electric trains "Metallostroy" . At the end of 2014, the company decided to build a new workshop; investments in the project amount to €60 million. With this expansion, the company gets the opportunity to provide service not only for the Sapsan trains, but also for the Lastochok trains.
