Moscow's busiest airport, Domodedovo, has launched a new sector in the eastern part of the terminal. The terminal area has increased by 6,000 square meters. m, or about a quarter. Sector E is intended to serve passengers on international lines. According to a Domodedovo representative, the capacity of the international air lines zone increased by 31% to 3,850 people per hour.

In the fall, in an interview with Vedomosti, Domodedovo owner Dmitry Kamenshchik said that expanding the terminal would cost 10 billion rubles. Also, according to him, construction of a new terminal segment (T2) is underway in Domodedovo, which is planned to be put into operation in December 2016. The cost of the project is 25 billion rubles. Due to T2, the area of the airport terminal will double.

Domodedovo is the country's largest airport; in 2014 it served 33.4 million passengers. According to a Forbes source close to Domodedovo, in 2014 the airport's revenue amounted to 41.25 billion rubles, EBITDA - 17.25 billion rubles, negative net debt - 500 million rubles, EBITDA margin - 41.8%. Dmitry Kamenshchik is the sole owner of the airport.
