An exhibition of Callo will be held in Moscow

On May 28, the exhibition “I wanted to work in the manner of Calllo” will open in the In Artibus Foundation in Moscow. Moscow collectors provided her seventy etchings for her, until recently belonging to the Vienna Albertine, and one drawing of Jacques Callo (1592/93-1635).

In addition to engravings from the famous series of Callo “Balli Di Sfessania” (1621), “Large calamities of the war” (1633), “Big Passions” (1618) and “Small Passions” (1624), the work of other artists - both those whose plastic finds could be inspired by the French schedule, and those who have entered into the art of art. "Manner Callo", the organizers report .

The exhibition will feature the graphic works of Joos de Momper, Rembrandt, Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Jacques-Louis David, Theodore Gerico and Honore Domier.

The second equal -equal participant in the exposition is the writer and composer Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann, whose words from the essay “Jacques Callo” (1814) are made into the name of the exhibition.
