The book of Ilma Rakuza “The measure of the sea” is the poet’s memoirs, memories of childhood, youth, years spent in Leningrad. About meetings with Brodsky, words and time: “In the forest or on the edge of the forest, I played“ now ”. I screamed "now", listened to the echo and knew that "now" has already passed. Just say, and the present is overturning into the past, as if falling back in the sea. ”
She defended the thesis “On the motive of loneliness in Russian literature”, translated Chekhov, Tsvetaeva and Remizov. In addition to Russian, Ilma Rakuza speaks in French, Hungarian, Slovenian, English, German: “Multicipment for me is as natural as the noise of the surf. It calms, this is my homeland. ”
