Ilma Rakuza: "The measure of the sea"

On May 22-25, 2015, events with the participation of the Swiss writer Ilma Rakuza, as well as the presentation of her book “The Mora of the Sea”, will be held in St. Petersburg.

The book of Ilma Rakuza “The measure of the sea” is the poet’s memoirs, memories of childhood, youth, years spent in Leningrad. About meetings with Brodsky, words and time: “In the forest or on the edge of the forest, I played“ now ”. I screamed "now", listened to the echo and knew that "now" has already passed. Just say, and the present is overturning into the past, as if falling back in the sea. ”

She defended the thesis “On the motive of loneliness in Russian literature”, translated Chekhov, Tsvetaeva and Remizov. In addition to Russian, Ilma Rakuza speaks in French, Hungarian, Slovenian, English, German: “Multicipment for me is as natural as the noise of the surf. It calms, this is my homeland. ”
