1945. Himmler suicide

70 years ago, on May 23, 1945, the SS Reichsfuhrer Henry Himmler, one of the main Nazi war criminals, responsible for the Holocaust and the death camp, committed suiconfuhrer.

Shortly before his suicide, April 28, Hitler shifted Himmler from all posts for trying to separate negotiations with Western allies. Himmler tried to hide, changing into the form of a non-commissioned officer of the field gendarmerie and stored with documents in the name of Henry Hitsinger. On May 21, he was arrested by the British military patrol. The attention was attracted by the too new Soldier's book by Himmler, while the imaginary Hicinger was a veteran of war according to the records in it.

On May 23, at the interrogation by the commandant of the camp No. 031 near Luneburg Captain Tom Sylvester Himmler, unexpectedly removed the bandage, put on glasses and said: "I am Henry Himmler." When the head of the secret service at the headquarters of Montgomery Robert Murphy arrived in the camp in the evening and ordered to search for Himmler, he managed to dissipate the ampoule with cyanide potassium.
