Putin replaced the head of the Penza region

President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the appointment of Ivan Belozertsev by the temporarily acting governor of the Penza region in connection with the expiration of the term of powers of the current head of the region Vasily Bochkarev. This was reported by the Kremlin press service.

Currently, Belozertsev holds the post of chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region. Since May 2011, he is the secretary of the political council of the regional branch of United Russia.

Earlier, Bochkarev, whose powers expire on May 25, said that he was not going to run for a new term. He said that he intends to relax and spend time with his family. However, according to Kommersant, the ex-governor may take a vacant post in the Federation Council. In March, the Lyubov Glebov, representing the Legislative Assembly of the region, was appointed head of the Federal Agency for the CIS. At the same time, the new member of the Council from the region was not appointed.

On April 16, Putin appointed Aman Tuleyev Acting Governor of the Kemerovo region . The next term has expired. Tuleyev announced his intention to take part in the elections. He has been heading the region since July 1997. Earlier it was reported that the Kremlin offers the governor honorary conditions of resignation.

In May, Putin accepted the early resignation of the governors of the Arkhangelsk, Leningrad, Omsk, Irkutsk, Kostroma and Smolensk regions and the Kamchatka Territory. All seven are appointed temporarily acting heads of these regions and will go to early elections . Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that other early resignations of governors are not expected.
