Putin returned to Alekseev to the HRC

Vladimir Putin returned the head of the ICG Lyudmila Alekseev as part of the Presidential Council for Human Rights. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a decree signed by the head of state.

Alekseeva left the HRC in June 2012 . She stated that she was not satisfied with the new system of forming a council based on the results of Internet voting. However, already in August 2012, the head of the ICG returned to the presidential structure .

Nevertheless, a month later, in September, Alekseeva again left the Council , noting that she did not want to participate in squabbles and intrigues that unfold around the discussion of candidates in his new composition. SPC asked Alekseev to reconsider his decision, but she refused .

Meanwhile, a month ago it became known that Alekseeva was ready to return to the Council . She explained that members of the HRC “can do something, which they can’t do it,” and noticed that in the current situation it is necessary to use any opportunity to action.

Members of the HRC, in turn, promised to appeal to Putin with a request to return the head of the ICG in the council.
