The Russian Museum refused to enter the entrance fee to the summer garden. Earlier it was assumed that from June 1, a summer garden, a branch of the Russian Museum, will become paid.
According to the St. Petersburg Avangard Internet magazine in the Russian Museum, this year they finally abandoned the entrance tickets to the summer garden, it will remain publicly available. At the same time, it is possible that the Russian Museum will return to the idea of introducing a paid entrance next year.
In April, the director of the Russian Museum Vladimir Gusev said that the need, at the request of the Ministry of Culture, to earn an additional 15% for extra -budgetary funds forces the museum administration to make a paid visit to the summer garden. It was assumed that the entrance to the summer garden would cost 100 rubles.
Publishing polls showed that most Petersburgers are categorically against this measure. The respondents compared the “paid summer garden” with the “paid palace area”, and only 13%agreed to pay for entrance to the summer garden.
Until September 30, the summer garden is open to visitors daily except Tuesday from 10:00 to 22:00 (you can enter until 21:30).
