“Colleagues, for me there is a simple indicator. In Ukraine, the government owns the oil producing company Ukrnafta and the gas producing company Ukrgazvidobuvannya with production of 2 million tons of oil and 15 billion cubic meters of gas per year, respectively. This is a trifle. These are very small companies by the standards of the oil and gas industry, owning scattered very small deposits. The quality of the deposits is low. There is no point in keeping them in the hands of the state.

At the same time, the share of state-owned companies in oil and gas production in Ukraine - attention! - HIGHER THAN IN RUSSIA. In Russia, even under Putin, despite everything, there is a large private sector in both oil and gas production. In Ukraine, the vast majority of oil and gas is produced by the state."
