Prime Minister of Slovakia called for weakening sanctions against Russia

If the Minsk agreements are met, sanctions against Russia should be loosened. This was stated by Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fitzo on the eve of the visit to Moscow, TASS reports .

"We do not need any sanctions or the rattle of weapons, but we need a peaceful dialogue and specific results. If the Minsk agreements are carried out, I will become the first to vote for further support of their implementation through the relief of sanctions. In my opinion, this is the most correct approach," Fitzo said.

"The sanctions did not give the expected effect. They harmed both Europe and Russia. I do not know who this mutual damage can arrange," the head of the Slovak government said.

In Moscow, Fitzo will hold negotiations with the Russian colleague Dmitry Medvedev. Slovak prime minister will also accept President Vladimir Putin. He does not intend to raise the topic of sanctions against Russia, the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov said.
