Ukraine banned 162 Russian films

The State Agency of Ukraine on Cinema (Goskino) has banned 162 films and television series produced in Russia since the beginning of 2014.

This was announced today, June 4, the chairman of the Goskino of Ukraine Philip Ilyenko told reporters, TASS reports.

“We cancel 207 rental certificates, but by the number of films are 162 names of films and TV shows,” he said.

Their rental certificates, said the chairman of the Goskino of Ukraine, were canceled in pursuance of the law on the ban on the show of Russian films, which were made after January 1, 2014.

According to Ilyenko, under Goskino of Ukraine there is an expert council that will analyze the content of Russian films produced before 2014 for "propaganda of the power structures of the aggressor state."

The head of the agency also said that since August 2014, Goskino of Ukraine has banned 206 Russian films and TV shows for showing.
