On June 6, a march of equality was supposed to take place on the Obolonskaya embankment of Kyiv. The action in support of the LGBT community lasted less than half an hour: shortly after the start, unknown activists tried to disrupt the march, throwing smoke bombs and firecrackers into the participants. According to eyewitnesses, the march did not reach the attack on the participants: the violators were stopped by the police. Five police officers suffered in skirmishes with activists, 25 people were detained. A criminal case has been instituted against them under the article “Hooliganism”.
