The Kinotavr began

On Sunday, June 7, the premiere of Stanislav Govorukhin “The End of the Beautiful Era” in Sochi opened the XXVI Open Russian Film Festival “Kinotavr”.

It is reported by TASS . At the opening ceremony, the prize "For Art and Civil Uncompromisingness" was awarded to the director Vadim Abdrashitov.

In the main competition of the festival, 14 full -length feature films, including 6 debut work of Russian directors.

The holders of the prize “Kinotavr” will be determined by the jury, which includes director Alexei Teacher (chairman), operator Yuri Klimenko, screenwriter Nikolai Kulikov, producer Natalya Mokritskaya, film distributor Alexei Ryazantsev, actor Andrei Smolyakov, actress Olesya Sudzilovskaya and film critic Peter Shepotinnik.

Also at the festival, the competition "Kinotavr. A short meter ”, the main prize of which is claimed by 22 short films. Among them, the painting “Return of Erkin” by Maria Guskova, who won the Student Films Section “Sinefondasion” at the Cannes Festival.

Outside the competition, the Kinotavr will show films shot outside of Russia: the working version of the new work of Bakura Bakuradze “Brother Dean”, “Remove from friends” by Leo Gabriadze (producer Timur Bekmambetov) and Rodina Peter Buslov.

In addition, in the program “Kinotavra”, open-air film screenings in the square in front of the Winter Theater, “Night of Advertising Disheater”, round tables, master classes and pitching debut projects.

"Kinotavr" will last until June 14. On the last day of the festival, Oleg Asadulin’s film “Green Carriage” will be shown, one of the episodes of which was shot at the last year's “Kinotavra”.
