Gaskarov filed a complaint with the ECHR

Swamp prisoner Alexei Gaskarov filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights. According to Kommersant, Gaskarov demands to admit Russia guilty of violating the four articles of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms: the right to a fair court, to freedom of opinion and freedom of assembly, as well as a ban on torture.

As the publication notes with reference to the ECHR experts, Gaskarov has good chances to win the case in Strasbourg, but this is unlikely to happen before the end of its conclusion.

In Strasbourg, there are already cases of ten other convicts in the swamp case. The court combined the complaints of seven of them and gave them priority. In May, the ECHRcommunicated three more complaints: Barabanov, Polikhovich and Savelov.

Anti -fascist Alexei Gaskarov was convicted in August 2014 along with three other defendants in swamp business. He received three and a half years of the general regime under part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code (participation in the riots) and in part 1 of Article 318 (the application of non -hazardous violence to a representative of the authorities). Gaskarov was found guilty that he pulled Pavel Bulychev in Bolotnaya Square and by the leg - Igor Ibatulin. Gaskarov himself explained that he had retired Bulychev to break the police chain, due to the pressure of which the crush began on the crowd. He tried to drag Ibatulin from the detainee lying on the floor. Gaskarov himself was greatly beaten on Bolotnaya, received cut heads of his head. TFR refused to institute criminal proceedings on his application.

Gaskarov was arrested at the end of April 2013. The verdict was announced on August 18 in the Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow. On November 27, the Moscow City Court confirmed its legality.

Gaskarov is serving a sentence in IK-6 in Novomoskovsk, Tula region.
