On June 14, the theme “Media and reality. What to do?" The writer and publicist German Sadulaev and the deputy of the St. Petersburg ZakSA Marina Shishkin will be discussed. Andrei’s play “What to do” is staged according to the novel of the same name by Nikolai Chernyshevsky.
From the theater’s message: ““ What to do ”is a performance-seminar, a show-off performance: the stall of the BDT is turned into an amphitheater, the scene is into the department, the auditorium into the audience. The authors of the performance are trying to answer the question of what concepts such as freedom, love, honesty, and sincerity mean today. As a modern person looks into the future, what new “utopias”, what hopes feed him today. As these concepts and topics set in the context of our time, they correlate with the context of the XIX century. ”
Previously, after the performance, the head of the department of the latest currents of the State Russian Museum Alexander Borovsky and the actor-activist Petr Pavlensky
took part in the discussion after the performance.
