In Mexico, the elections of the mayor of the city of Yurekuaro in Michoakan were won by a candidate who died a few weeks before the vote, the Univision channel reports.

Almost 37% of citizens voted for the late Ernandes. It is noted that he significantly ahead of other rivals. Voters voted for the dead candidate in accordance with the law, since the name of the candidate was not removed from the ballots.

In mid -May, unknown armed people opened fire from automatic weapons on Ernandes during the election rally. Together with him, three more people were injured.

The second place in the elections was taken by the candidate from the ruling institutional and revolutionary party.
