The court in France lifted the charges of pimps from the former head of the International Monetary Fund Dominic Stro-Kan, BBC reports . At the trial, the prosecution failed to prove that he was engaged in organizing parties with prostitutes.
During the final speech, the prosecutor Lill Frederick Favr said that the court should be guided by the criminal, not the moral code. According to the prosecutor, neither the investigation nor the evidence presented to the court confirms that Stra-Kan is guilty of pimulation. Earlier, five out of six plaintiffs abandoned their charges against the 66-year-old defendant.
In court, Stra-Kan stated that he was judged not for sexual habits and deviations. He always denied that he knew that some of the women invited to orgies were prostitutes.
In February 2012, accusations of the promotion of the organization of a prostitution network around the Carlton Hotel were brought against the stric-kan. For a while he was arrested. The trial of him and 13 more defendants began in February this year.
In May 2011, Stra-Kan was forced to leave the post of head of the IMF due to accusations of raping the Maid of the New York Hotel Sofitel, 32-year-old natives of Guinea Nafissat Diallo. On May 14, 2011, Stra-Kan was detained in New York. The ex-head of the IMF spent several days after the detention in prison, then the New York Supreme Court agreed to release him on bail of $ 1 million and put him under house arrest.
Soon, the case against the stric-kan was at risk of closing. The prosecutor's office said that the maid gave false testimonies when receiving asylum in the country, deceived tax and social bodies, and also probably lied when indications under the oath in front of a large jury. Nevertheless, the maid lawyers, admitting that she "made mistakes in the past," continued to insist that there was evidence of the guilt of the struss-kan, and he really tried to rape her.
On August 23, 2011, the New York prosecutor's office stopped the criminal prosecution of the ex-head of the IMF , saying that he was taking off his charges of sexual harassment to the maid. In early August, it became known that Diallo filed a civil lawsuit against stric-kan. The woman still accuses the financier of sexual violence.
Before the trial, Stra-Kann was considered the main contender for the post of president of France in the 2012 elections. However, on September 2011, Stra-Kan refused to run . The former Director of the IMF explained that he really wanted to nominate his candidacy for the post of head of state, but "this remained in the past."
