
The Samara missile and space center (RCC) "Progress" has developed a universal transport and launch container for launching nanosatellites into orbit. Its tests should be held during the first launch campaign from the Vostochny cosmodrome in December, the press service of the Government of the Samara Region said.
“Work on the project began in May 2014. A way from an idea to a finished flight model was traveled over a year,” TASS said one of the authors of development, the engineer -designer of the RCC “Progress” Dmitry Zaretsky.
According to him, the design of the container consists of three modules - a pusher, cover and body. Depending on the size of the nanosonite, the length of the case can be different, and the pusher and lid modules are standard, which makes the container universal and very reliable. The level of reliability, according to the engineer, corresponds to the class "three nine" (99.9%). The system of supply to the control signal container is fully consistent with the standards of the Soyuz launch vehicle.
The container has already passed thermal, transport, electrical and vibro-testing. In December 2015, the Soyuz-2.1A launch vehicle will have to deliver into space the AIST-2 Small Spacecraft and the Samsat-218 nano-tank created at the Samara State Aerospace University. Nanosnutnik will be brought to orbit using a universal container.
Recall that nanoseters have a mass of 1 kg to 10 kg. Their scope is wide - from remote sensing of the Earth to cosmic observations.
