Announced the winner of Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2015

Swedish photographer J.Kh. Engstrom (JH Engström) became the owner of the 2015 Leica Oskar Barnack Award, which is awarded for photographs about human and nature relationships.

The award was brought by the Tout Va Bien series (“All is well”), which included multi-format black and white and color pictures. In the message on the website of the series, the series is called a video poetic statement, a photonarratic with autobiogrphic motives.

All 90 shots of the Tout Va Bien series will be presented in the book that Aperture will be released in July.

J.Kh. Engstrom (b. 1969) graduated from the faculty of photography and cinema of the University of Gotheborg, worked as an assistant Mario Testino and Anders Petersen, participated in international exhibitions in Belgium, Great Britain, France and other countries. The author of a number of books, laureate of international awards.

The Leica Oskar Barnack Award is the name of German engineer Oscar Barnak, who developed the first Leica camera. It has been awarded since 1979. The international jury awards the prize to "professional photographers, whose observation allows them to accurately find and most clearly express relations between a person and the environment."

A series of 10 to 12 pictures are accepted for the competition. The winner receives 25 thousand euros, a Leica M camera and a lens worth 10 thousand euros.
