The case of the “Crimean terrorists” Sentsov and Kolchenko went to court in Rostov-on-Don

A criminal case about terrorist attacks in Crimea, of which director Oleg Sentsov and anti-fascist Alexander Kolchenko are accused, was received by the North Caucasus District Military Court. Court press secretary Alena Katkalo told RIA Novosti about this on Wednesday; the date for the preliminary hearing in the case has not yet been announced. In the final version, the FSB Investigation Department accuses Sentsov under Part 1 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code (creation and management of a terrorist community), paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code (committing a terrorist attack), Part 1 of Article 30, paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code (preparation for a terrorist attack), Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 3 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code (attempted illegal acquisition of explosive devices), and Part 3 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code (illegal acquisition, transportation and storage of firearms and ammunition). He faces life imprisonment. Anti-fascist Kolchenko is accused under Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of a terrorist community) and paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code (committing a terrorist attack). Punishment under these articles provides for up to 10 and up to 20 years in prison, respectively. According to the prosecution, Sentsov, on the instructions of the Right Sector banned in Russia, created a terrorist community in Simferopol. The group allegedly included historian Alexey Chirniy , anti-fascist Alexander Kolchenko, lawyer Gennady Afanasyev , as well as wanted people named Tsiril, Borkin, Zuikov and Asanov.
