Boris Ignatiev: "Torpedo" threatens disbandment "

Boris Ignatiev, vice-president of the Moscow Football Club, commented on rumors about the possible disbandment of the metropolitan team and called the reasons why the club could withdraw from the championship of the football national league.

“I can say that on June 22, at 16.00, it should be decided whether our team will continue to perform in professional football or not,” Ignatiev said in an interview with Soviet Sports . “I can’t say that today we have sponsors that would support our team. They are simply not. There is no“ team ”that would take us for our care.”

The vice-president of Avtozavodtsev noted that various options for continuing the club in professional football are being worked out. Nevertheless, Ignatiev added: "The probability of disbandment is very large now."

The past season "Torpedo" spent in the Russian football Premier League, taking the penultimate place in it following the results of the championship. The "car factories" left the country's highest division along with the Tula Arsenal.

"Torpedo" is a three -time champion of the USSR and a six -time owner of the Cup of the Soviet Union. The "car factory" won the only Russian trophy in 1993, becoming the winners of the Russian Cup under the leadership of Yuri Mironov.
