During the protests against the migration policy of the European Union in Bratislava, 140 people were detained, Agency France-Presse reports.

About 8 thousand people took to the streets of the capital of Slovakia, protesting against the proposal of the European Commission to place several hundred migrants in the framework of quotas in Slovakia. In some areas of Bratislava, the protest rally grew into a clash with police. Several police cars were damaged. There is no data on the victims.

Earlier, ten out of 28 countries participating in the European Union opposed the proposal of the European Commission on the introduction of quotas to receive illegal migrants from the third world countries. According to the project, refugees will be evenly distributed among all members of the community, taking into account the volume of national GDP, the population, the unemployment rate and the number of foreigners who have already been provided asylum.
