Hotel crisis

The hotel business of Krasnoyarsk is facing a crisis. Already in the services market there is an oversight. However, several more hotels are being built and planned in the city.

According to Business FM Krasnoyarsk, the revenue and occupancy of the Krasnoyarsk hotels falls. Now city hotels are filled only by 40%. By mid -summer, this figure can become even less.

“People reduce their budgets and drive less, this is first. And secondly, the revenue has always fallen in the summer. This is natural, because in the summer people are resting. For us, after all, mostly “business travelers” are going. And the newly under construction hotels will “dilute” the market even more, ”explains Irina Maksimova, executive director of the Siberian Association of hospitality, explains“ Business FM Krasnoyarsk ”.

Despite the abundance of hotels, most foreign guests prefer to stop at Hilton or small hotels, ignoring the “classic” Krasnoyarsk and October. Experts are already saying that the city does not need large hotels. There will simply be no one to live in them.

“We are not a tourist city. There will be so many guests to fill all the hotels. I think there will be an excess. Now “Hilton” if 50% are busy, then this is good. And “our” hotels: “Krasnoyarsk”, “Oktyabrskaya” -and even less, ”explains Oleg Shitikov, the general director of the regional girlfriend.

Despite the fears of experts, the active erection of hotels of different levels continues in Krasnoyarsk. By 2016, it is planned to finish the construction of a hotel complex on Theater Square. In the neighborhood with the Krasnoyarsk hotel, a three -star Ibis will appear for 112 rooms and a four -star Novotel for 92 rooms. In addition, the construction of a 8-story hotel building in the Success microdistrict is planned.
