Terrorists from the Caucasus Emirate swore allegiance to ISIS

The entire North Caucasus militants swore allegiance to Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State (ISIS), recognized as a terrorist organization in a number of countries. As the Caucasian Knot reports , on June 21, an audio recording appeared on YouTube, which states that militants belonging to the structural units of the Caucasus Emirate, recognized in Russia as terrorist, took the oath of allegiance to Abu Bakr al Baghdadi.

The recording states that all militants from the vilayats of Dagestan, Nokhchiycho (Ichkeria), Galgayche (Ingushetia) and Kabarda, Balkaria and Karachay jointly made a similar decision, and they have no disagreements on this issue, the publication writes.

Previously, only individual leaders of Caucasian Islamists took the oath to ISIS. Thus, the commander of the Riyadh al-Salihiin suicide battalion, Aslan Byutukaev, took the oath on behalf of all the militants of Chechnya. He announced this on June 12 of this year. On December 19, 2014, an appeal was circulated by Abu Muhammad, the Emir of Dagestan, who announced that he was taking an oath to the leader of the Islamic State.

As the Caucasian Knot notes, then Aliaskhab (Ali Abu-Muhammad) Kebekov, at that time the leader of the Caucasus Emirate, blamed the leader of the Dagestan militants for the split, removed him and appointed Said of Arakan as Emir of Dagestan.

On April 19, 2015, Alisaskhab Kebekov was killed by security forces as a result of a special operation. At the end of May , it became known that Muhammad Suleymanov, also known as Abu Usman Gimrinsky, became the acting emir of the Caucasus Emirate.
