A joint statement in connection with crimes against observers in the elections

Social, political and human rights movements and organizations of Russia, sharing such values ​​as respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and human rights, are outraged by gang methods of countering public control in our country.

The most egregious incident occurred on April 26, 2015 in the elections in the city of Zheleznodorozhny, the Moscow Region, where observers were successfully prevented the stuffing of the ballots, the person who carried it out, the evidence and evidence exposing the intruders, which exposed the intruders, was detained. After that, the observers were attacked in order to destroy evidence of an attempt to throw, as a result of which observers were caused by serious bodily harm, and photo equipment was destroyed and stolen. One of the observers, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, received a concussion, lung injury and rupture of the spleen, which led to its removal. The life of S. Pozdnyakov was at risk.

Crimes against observers have an increased public danger, as they encroach on the election institution itself, criminalizing it. Such crimes and, especially, their impunity undermine the legitimacy of the authorities formed in the elections and confidence in it.

Over the past time, we not only do not observe effective efforts to disclose the crime, find and punish the perpetrators, but, conversely, encounter attempts to conceal evidence and justify the bandits from senior official representatives of election commissions.

The latter is especially outrageous, since the use of violence in relation to observers cannot be considered in a separation from the falsifications that they tried to prevent.

We demand in the shortest possible time to find performers, organizers and customers of the beating of observers and hold them accountable.

Our organizations intend to exercise public control over the investigation and deploy the support of the support of victims of observers and the coverage of the investigation.

We will not weaken attention and efforts until the perpetrators are punished.
