In the Losinoostrovsky district of Moscow, about 15 participants in a rally in defense of the Torfyanka park were detained. This was reported on Twitter by journalist Philip Kireev.
The first to be detained was an assistant to the leader of the Yabloko party, Sergei Mitrokhin. At least five more men were detained “to establish their identity”, after which the detentions continued, the detainees are being searched. Some of the detainees were soon released .
Earlier in the day after a meeting in the prefecture, the prefect demanded that preparations for the construction of the temple be stopped in the park and "remove everything from the construction site, including the fence," until the court's decision, Mitrokhin, who was present at the meeting, said.
Preparations for the construction of the temple in the park "Torfyanka" began on June 18. Workers arrived at the scene and surrounded the site with a fence. Local residents, who opposed the construction in the park, organized a round-the-clock duty near the site. In the fenced area, in turn, supporters of the construction were on duty.
