Canada imposed new sanctions against Russia

Canada imposed additional sanctions against Russia. This was reported on the website of the Prime Minister of the country. By announcing the introduction of sanctions, Prime Minister Stephen Harper emphasized: "Until the real world comes, until the occupation forces are allotted until the sovereignty of Ukraine is restored by its entire territory - President Putin must face new consequences."

“Together with our partners, we persistently call on President Putin to stop the invasion of Eastern Ukraine, withdraw their troops, tanks and heavy weapons and stop supplying military assistance to the rebels,” the Canadian prime minister added. He called on Russia and pro -Russian militants to comply with the obligations that they took upon themselves under the Minsk agreements.

The new defendants in the sanctions list are listed on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Canada. The sanctions were imposed against the Eurasian Youth Union and personally its leaders Alexander Dugin, Pavel Kanishchev and Andrei Kovalenko. Another person involved in the list was the biker club "Night Wolves". The Marshall Capital Foundation “Orthodox Businessman” Konstantin Malofeev also fell under the sanctions.

The sanctions list was also replenished with 7 defense enterprises: Sirius, Tula Armory, the United Aircraft Corporation, Khimkomosit, High -precision complexes, Embact tools and Oboronprom.

Finally, 4 oil and gas sector enterprises fell under the sanctions. These are Gazprom, Gazpromneft, Surgutneftegaz and Transneft.

Along with this, as stated in Harper's statement, a ban on export-import operations with the enterprises of the annexed Crimea was introduced.

On June 22, the European Union extended sectoral sanctions against Russia for six months . As explained, such a decision was made for the complete embodiment of the Minsk agreements. Three days earlier, the EU also extended for the year of sanctions against Crimea and Sevastopol . On the same days, the US State Department warned that Washington would impose new sanctions against Moscow if militants capture new territories in eastern Ukraine.

On June 24, in response to the extension of European sector sanctions, Vladimir Putin extended the embargo for food supply from the USA, Canada, European Union, Norway and Australia for a year .
