The case against two “Primorsky partisans” will be submitted to the Primorsky Regional Court

The case against two of the six members of the “Primorsky partisans” gang will be considered by the Primorsky Regional Court, told court press secretary Nina Bulanova TASS. “The consideration of the criminal case of Vadim Kovtun and Alexey Nikitin, in respect of whom the Supreme Court overturned the verdict of the Primorsky Court, will take place in a jury trial and in a new court,” she said. According to Bulanova, the court will review one of the key episodes of the case related to the murder of four residents of the Kirovsky district of Primorye. Previously satisfied claims of victims in the amount of about 10 million rubles will also be reviewed. The date for consideration has not yet been set, since only part of the more than 90 volumes of the criminal case has been received by the court. It will take some more time to study the court's decision. In May 2015, the Supreme Court overturned the life sentences against “coastal partisans” Alexander Kovtun and Vladimir Ilyutikov, replacing them with 25 years in prison. In April last year, a jury found the “Primorie partisans” guilty of banditry, illegal weapons trafficking, murder, robbery, theft or extortion, intentional destruction of someone else’s property and assault on the life of a law enforcement officer.
