Heavy flooding in Sochi has affected 1.9 thousand residential buildings, home to over 4,000 people. The natural disaster's total cost comes to 760 million rubles ($13.7 million), including an estimated 350 million rubles ($6.3 million) in damages to private housing, according to city officials.
Early on Monday, June 29, floodwaters had receded entirely from homes in Sochi's Adlerski and Khostinski regions, according to emergency workers.
"Residents of 1,500 Sochi homes will receive compensation from 10,000 to 100,000 rubles ($180 to $1,800.)"
