Journalists got to the bottom of information that could throw a shadow at the Royal House of the Netherlands. During the study of archives, it was found that in the middle of the 20th century, Jewish schoolchildren were expelled from the class where two Dutch princesses were to study.

An article about the Nieuw Baarnsche school in the suburbs of Amsterdam, which was once the Princess Irene and Margrit, published the Nieuw Israelitisch Weekblad weekly last week. The basis of the investigation was the materials found by journalists in the archives of the Jewish community of the Netherlands. They attracted the attention of Bart Wallet, a professor of history from the University of Amsterdam, who studies the relationship of the royal family and Dutch Jews, says Newsru Israel .

The document dated February 1952, the secretary of the Jewish community Benjamin de Jongh reports: "The classes in which the princesses had to study were divided, and children of Jewish descent were transferred to a parallel class where there were no royal blood persons." Parents of the expelled children turned to the Royal Palace with a complaint, as follows from archival materials.

In response, the deceased Queen of Julian, the grandmother of the current King of the Netherlands Willem-Alleksandra, said in a letter that the Dutch monarchs have never been and would not be anti-Semites. At the same time, the monarchy person did not do anything, and her daughters studied in a class, free from Jewish presence.

Meanwhile, the Royal House of the Netherlands promised to investigate the suspicions published by journalists. "Data published by the newspaper deserves careful study, the accusations contained in this article are too difficult to respond instantly," the palace spokesman said in an interview with the NRC Handelsblad daily newspaper. It is expected that a detailed response to the charges will be given next week.

Recall that during the Second World War, the Netherlands were occupied by Germany for five years. During the occupation, about fifty thousand Dutch Jews became victims of the Holocaust.

The editors of Nieuw ISRAELITISH Weekblad believes that the expulsion of Jewish children six years after the Holocaust tragedy is a serious oversight from the Queen and stains its reputation.

The situation is aggravated by the fact that the passive position that the Royal Palace took in the described scandal was quite conscious: apparently, the monarchs simply failed to confront the pressure that the influential parents of the prestigious school - classmates of the princess, explained to them, Wallet explained in an interview with NRC Handelsblad.
