Putin reset the terms of governors

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which all terms of governors are counted from 2012. All previous deadlines are nullified.

The document states that the heads of regions cannot serve more than two terms, but the countdown begins in 2012.

• On September 13, 2015, gubernatorial elections will be held in two dozen regions of the country. Among others, elections will be held in Kaluga, Kaliningrad, Tambov, Rostov and others.
• All governors elected in the elections on September 13 will rule as if for the first time. At the same time, for example, Governor Anatoly Artamonov was elected for the first time in 2000, and then twice reappointed to his post.
