The European Union countries have reached a preliminary agreement on the cancellation of roaming fees on the territory of the bloc. It is reported by Reuters.

It is expected that roaming fees will be reset from June 15, 2017. On June 23, the European Commissioner in the digital economy and society Gunter Ettinger said that the EU was going to abandon roaming from the second quarter of 2017.

According to Ettinger, who reports Bloomberg, the decision of the EU authorities will allow mobile users not to be afraid to include their phones abroad. This, in turn, will create more opportunities for mobile operators to provide new services to customers.

Since July 2014, legislative changes have entered into force, in accordance with which the cost of mobile services in roaming for EU residents has decreased significantly . So, ordinary bells and SMS fell into 20%, and mobile data transfer and Internet access-by 55%.

The European Commission has been reducing the reduction in the services of mobile operators from at least 2007, trying to create a single mobile communications market in the EU. In turn, the large telecommunication companies in Europe opposed EC innovations, believing that they destroy the industry.
